Green Expo was founded in February 2004, as one of Ontario′s first environmental sustainability events - with the goal of combating the effects of global warming. The show′s come a long way since then, and continues to grow each year!

We at Green Expo are passionate about being environmentally-responsible and doing our part to save the Earth for generations to come. One person can make a difference, but just think what a whole family can do or what one event can do!

Audience At Presentation

Every year Green Expo grows and delivers cutting-edge environmental education. Very informative presenters and exhibitors bring the latest ideas and innovations in the environmental movement. Green Expo constantly evolves, featuring new and innovative events added to the mix of exhibitors and expert speakers. These features have included:

  • Book signings by environmental book authors
  • Test drives of hybrid vehicles
  • Movie screenings
  • Culinary demonstrations
  • Fashion Shows
  • School Challenges
  • Green Business Workshops
  • Wine, Beer and Food Sampling
  • Each year the Green Expo adds new features and attracts larger numbers and a more varied audience.

2009 welcomed keynote speaker Wendy Mesley to Peterborough, the year before it was the world renowned chef Michael Stadtlander as the Keynote Speaker.

Since wrapping up Green Expo 2009, the organizer has been busy planning a new summer event for the village of Lakefield - just north of Peterborough, all in support of local eating, local farmers and producers and the new farmer's market coming to the village.

On Sunday, August 16th, the Lakefield Local Harvest took place at Isabel Morris Park which saw seven area chefs teaming up to create an amazing, fresh, local meal using 100% local ingredients. Entertainment and a mini farmer's market were part of the fun too. The event sold out quickly and next year the plans are to feed 500!

Green Expo 2010 is excited to focus on youth with the theme being Empowering our Youth for a Sustainable Future
